The True Green team is keen to help schools in developing education resources which will assist in improving our environment.
As our children are becoming more aware of the environmental concerns and the affects of climate change that we are facing today, we believe our children have a huge role to play in positively influencing our actions and behaviours. In response to this, we have developed True Green Kids: 100 things you can do to save the planet, written for school-aged children.
This bright, fun and colourful book is definately one of our favourites! It is also a great guide for teachers to use as a source of ideas and inspiration in the classroom. Not only does True Green Kids include plenty of fun, wasy and practical ways we can make a difference, it also outlines climate change and environmental facts and explains them in easy-to-understand terms.
True Green Kids recently won a pretigious children's science book prize in the United States, an award for Best Hands On Science Book at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
Conference. The AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books celebrates outstanding science writing and illustration for children and young adults. Click here to read the press release. See photos of the award ceremony here.
Make True Green Kids an integral part of your schools environmental education and actions. We have developed a set of Teachers Notes to coincide with True Green Kids which you can download here.
